In 1886 William Grant gave up his career and livelihood to fulfill his vision of creating the “best dram in the valley”. So, at the age of 46, he rolled up his sleeves and, together with his nine children, he set about building a whisky distillery stone by stone. On Christmas Day 1887, the first Glenfiddich Spirit was filled into barrels.
